How the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) Impacts Edge Computing and What to Do About It

Cybersecurity regulation is catching up with edge computing. The EU's Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) will require continuous, lifecycle-driven security for all connected digital products, and that includes the distributed infrastructure running at the edge. For organizations managing small clusters of compute across hundreds or thousands of locations, ad-hoc security practices are no longer enough.

In this Ask the Experts session, Fredrik Jansson breaks down what the Cyber Resilience Act means for edge operations and why its impact reaches well beyond Europe. Any organization offering connected products or operating edge sites in the EU will need to comply.

Using real-world edge scenarios, this session explains how decentralized, sometimes disconnected environments create unique CRA compliance challenges. The focus is on what it takes to prove security continuously across distributed sites, and how secure-by-design practices can work reliably even where connectivity is intermittent and physical access is limited.

The outcome is a clear understanding of CRA requirements, practical steps to start preparing now, and how to turn compliance into a strategic advantage rather than just a regulatory burden.

Key takeaways

  • What the Cyber Resilience Act requires and why it matters for edge computing infrastructure

  • Why CRA compliance in decentralized environments demands a shift from ad-hoc protection to disciplined, lifecycle-driven security

  • How to start preparing now and use compliance as a foundation for stronger, more scalable edge operations

Edge Container Management Edition.

Join our monthly webinar series where Fredrik Jansson, Avassa's Senior Developer and Solution Architect deep dives into the different corners of the world of edge container management and operations.

What to expect?
In these sessions, we deep dive into different topics on container management and operations in edge and IIoT. These are technical sessions where we look closer at use cases such as remote deployments and upgrades, security for the edge, observability and monitoring of your on-site Edge container applications, and AI models. You can participate as a curious viewer, or interact and get the chance to ask questions. That's up to you!

Who should attend?
Anyone looking to advance their knowledge, or compare notes, on use cases related to managing and operating containers in highly distributed Edge or IIoT environments.
